Everyone loves this leavened flatbread originating from Northern India and Pakistan. Traditionally served as an accompaniment, naan bread can be used as a scoop to eat curry with. But naan can be a versatile and innovative meal component too.

We introduced authentic frozen naan to the foodservice market in 1991 and we’re proud that we're now one of the largest naan bread suppliers in Europe. By understanding the need for chefs to deliver authentic food quickly and how important it is to differentiate from retail products, we’ve designed a naan range that fits market needs perfectly.

OUR NAAN BREAD CHAMPION

Our founder Mr Butt began the Butt Foods bakery business on the strength of his excellent naan breads, so it’s natural that he takes great interest in the naan products we make today, making sure that each naan is as light, airy and full of flavour as the last.

ARTISAN SOURDOUGH RECIPE NAAN

At Butt Foods we know a thing or two about making great quality naan bread. So we set ourselves a challenge, to create the lightest, bubbliest and best tasting naan we’ve ever made.

We developed our own unique artisan sourdough recipe. This live cultured sourdough – our 'starter' – combined with a long fermentation period, is at the heart of our process. 'Feeding' the starter, creating a 'mother dough' then a 'mature sour' and eventually our final dough takes a little longer to be ready. But we're in no hurry.

This patient process improves both flavour and texture, and because we don’t need to use raising agents we create a more natural product. We add natural yoghurt for a light and airy texture, pure butter ghee for colour and taste, and toasted kalonji and cumin seeds for a nutty flavour.

In independent research, consumers told us that they preferred our new naan bread to the leading foodservice competitor, on both taste and texture. It’s all about the bubble.What makes our lightest, bubbliest naan bread so special?

​CLASSIC NAAN

We make all our naan breads with skill and care – we use our own unique blend of high quality flour and mix the very best ingredients to form a wet, elastic dough. We ferment the dough longer for a fuller flavour and a soft, open texture, then bake the naan under clay-flamed tiles that replicate the unique heat of a traditional tandoor oven.

​MEGA NAAN

Developed to meet the growing casual dining trend for sharing, our family-sized mega-naan is the perfect solution for hanging skewers, sharing boards and platters and fun dining. If you’re looking to make an impression with your diners, our mega-naan will certainly do it!


Our BAKED EARTH® mega naan is made with the same skill and care as all our naan breads. We bake it under clay-flamed tiles to replicate the unique heat of a traditional tandoor oven, so it has the same great taste and texture, but in a bigger naan.
